This rare gem from 1993 was never published outside of Japan, we still trying to figure out why. The Turbografx-16 CD title is beautiful, varied and fast-paced, and as a Symphony of the Night prequel it's one of the last non-Metroidvania entries in the longrunning Konami series. In this clip we step into the shoes of Richter Belmont whip in hand until we run into a pesky axe-throwing foe. Listen to that quality (German?!) voice work. The huge sprites. The anime-esque cutscenes. The awesome music. Coming off the NES and SNES entries in the franchise, this was truly a next-gen Castlevania.
