Age of Conanin nokkamies erosi

Godager osittain pettynyt peliin

Norjalaisessa Funcom-pelistudiossa on tapahtunut iso myllerrys. Yhtiön perustajajäsenistöön kuulunut Gaute Godager on eronnut tehtävistään ja yhtiöstä 16 vuoden uran päätteeksi. Syyksi Godager ilmoittaa tyytymättömyyden joihinkin Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures -nettiroolipelin osiin. Age of Conanin uudeksi tuottajaksi ja pomomieheksi ryhtyy Craig Morrison, joka on hoidellut Funcomin pelaajayhteisöasioita. Henkilöstönvaihdokset eivät povaa hyvää toukokuussa kohtuullisen vahvasti aloittaneelle, mutta nopeasti lässähtäneen alkuinnostuksen kokeneelle Age of Conanille. Toki pelin suunta voi kääntyä uudessa johdossa parempaankin.

    Toivottavasti peli ei joudu tuuliajolle nokkamiehen vaihdoksen takia. Nykyään tarvitaan enemmän kuin tarpeeksi kilpailua noihin nettiropeihin. Vaikeaa on varmasti löydä WoWille kapuloita rattaisiin, mutta aina voi yrittää. Kyllähän vaihtelua tarvitaan tähänkin lajiin ja Conan on paras mahdollinen siihen.

    Sääli sinänsä. Gaute oli selkeästi täydellä sydämellä AoC:ia kehittämässä, ja se näkyi selkeästi Norjassa käydessäni. Toivottavasti vetovastuun vaihtuminen onnistuu ja Conan pysyy hyvänä vaihtoehtona haltiatulipalloörkkifantsukarkki-MMO:ille.
