This weekend sees the Call of Duty World League head to Anaheim California and top teams like Splyce, OpTic Gaming, and Cloud9 will battle it out while open brackets will see smaller teams fight for glory away from the main stage. Friday's competition had no shortage of action, and we've provided a quick roundup for you to get an idea of who's hot and who's not.

European team Splyce started off reasonably well, registering wins over Cloud9 and Enigma6, although great play from Proto meant the latter was a very close match. Splyce didn't have great luck against Rise Nation however, which was another close match, but this time it wasn't in Splyce's favour, as they lost 3-2. With both Rise Nation and Enigma6 getting good results, though, it's still all to play for in Pool A.

In Pool B Luminosity and Epsilon are also doing equally well, with two wins apiece. For Luminosity they comfortably beat Team EnVyUs, as did Epsilon, but Red Reserve pushed things much closer, getting two map wins. Epsilon pushed this even further, beating Luminosity, but Red Reserve beat them 3-2 to make things interesting and keep both sides on a level playing field.

In Pool C Bittersweet remained undefeated on Friday, and only dropped one map all day, this being against FaZe Clan. Their wins over Elevate and Evil Geniuses were both comfortable 3-0 victories, but Evil Geniuses still have two wins to their name, so there's no reason for them to be disheartened, especially considering their performance against Elevate to win 3-0.

In OpTic Gaming's Pool D there's no prizes for guessing how they did, as they didn't drop a single map all day, sweeping aside eUnited, Mindfreak, and Fnatic to reassure doubters (if indeed there are any out there) that they mean business. Like with Pool C, eUnited are close on their tails with two 3-0 wins of their own, but it doesn't look likely that OpTic Gaming will slip any time soon.
