The Vergen haastattelussa Steam Deckin suunnittelijat Lawrence Yang ja Pierre-Loup Griffais paljastivat, että Valvella on mittavat suunnitelmat Steam Deckin päivittelemiseksi. Moinen koskisi sekä laitetta itseään että sen ohjelmistoa. Ensisijaiset parannuskohteet olisivat akunkesto ja näyttö. Se raaka suorituskyky ei kuitenkaan olisi muuttumassa.
Kaiken kaikkiaan suunnitelmia siis on, ja onhan vehje mukava menestys ollut muutenkin.
