Atari ilmoitti vuonna 2021 uudesta strategiastaan kehittää niin sanottuja AAA-pelejä. On aika siirtyä uuteen vaiheeseen, sillä Atari on ostanut 100% Nightdive Studiosista, joka muistetaan System Shock Remaken tekijänä. Diiliä hehkutti Atarin toimitusjohtaja Wade Rosen.

Nightdive Studiosin osalta tilannetta hehkuttivat Stephen Kick ja Larry Kuperman.
