Gran Turismo 8 on ilmoittanut, että pelaajien ilona on ainoastaan sähköautoja, jotka kuitenkin tavoittavat saman realismin ja jännityksen kuin polttomoottoriautotkin. Syy ratkaisulle on tietenkin ympäristöystävällisyydessä.
Ratkaisu on rohkea, joskaan ei odottamaton ottaen huomioon firmain pyrkimyksen pienentää hiilijalanjälkeään. Gran Turismo 8 aikoo jokaisella kärryllään tavoittaa sähköautoilun syvimmän olemuksen ain moottorin hiljaiseen huminaan saakka.
Mukana ovat muun muassa Tesla Model S, Porsche Taycan ja Audi e-tron GT. Samalla pelaajat oppivat sähköautoilun hyödyistä ympäristöystävällisemmän tulevaisuuden luomisessa, kun kurvailevat pelin haasteita ja kisoja.
