Useat videopelifirmat ovat lopettaneet toimintansa Venäjällä sen jälkeen, kun maa aloitti hyökkäyssotansa Ukrainassa helmikuussa 2022. Nintendo eShop on nyt käytännössä lakannut toimimasta Venäjällä.
Iso N oli jo aiemmin ryhtynyt toimiin, mutta nyt Nintendo eShopin myynnit on keskeytetty Venäjällä. Toisin sanoen Switchille ei voi enää ostaa pelejä, eikä koodeja voi lunastaa.
"As of May 31, 2023, and for the foreseeable future, Russian customers with an existing Nintendo Account will be able to redownload digital content that they have previously purchased. It will not be possible to make any new purchases or use download codes within [the] Nintendo eShop in Russia."
