Game of Thronesin ollessa vielä käynnissä ja iso juttu, ryhtyivät sarjan luojat David Benioff ja Dan Weiss suunnittelemaan tulevaisuutta. Tähtäimessä oli sopimus Star Warsista.
Tuottajien unelma kuivui kokoon, ja nyt he ovat kertoneet, mitä tapahtui, ja mitä olisi ollut tulossa. Ajatuksena oli kertoa ensimmäisistä jedeistä.

"We had a very specific story idea in mind, and ultimately they decided they didn't want to do that. And we totally get it. It's their company and their IP, but we weren't the droids they were looking for."
