Nykyaikana monet julkaisijat ovat alkaneet enemmän ja enemmän painottamaan erilaisten verkko- ja moninpeliominaisuuksien tärkeyttä julkaisemissaan videopeleissä. Eräs näistä on tunnetusti Electronic Arts, mikä tietenkin on aiheuttanut huolta Anthem-peliä odottavien keskuudessa.
Kehittäjä Bioware on kuitenkin vakuuttanut, että Anthem tulee olemaan paitsi pelattavissa yksin, myös nautinnollinen kokemus soolona. Asiaa kommentoi ohjaaja Casey Hudson blogissa.
"I think the reason people are concerned about whether these things are possible in a multiplayer game is because it just hasn't been solved well before. With Anthem, we're taking this problem head-on and structuring the entire game design to provide a specific solution for this."
