Soul Calbur ei ehkä ole se suosituin taistelupelisarja, mutta kunniakas ja iäkäs kuitenkin. Soul Calibur VI julkaistaan 19. lokakuuta 2018 PC:lle, PS4:lle ja Xbox Onelle, mutta sen jälkeen saattaakin olla niin, että viimeinen sammuttaa valot.
Tuottaja Motohiro Okubo paljasti Dual Shockersille, että kuudennen osan saaminen tuotantoon vaati runsaasti oikeiden tahojen suostuttelua. Jos asetettuihin tavoitteisiin ei päästä, saattaa sarjan taru loppua.
