Gamereactor uutisoi huhtikuussa, että tulevan Halo-TV-sarjan Master Chiefiksi on rekrytoitu Orange is The New Black -sarjan niljakas George "Pornstache" Mendez eli näyttelijä Pablo Schreiber. Nyt kuusi muuta näyttelijää liittyy Steven Spielbergin tuottamaan ja Showtimen esittämään sarjaan.
Natascha McElhone (Californication) esittää tekoäly Cortanan luojaa Dr. Catherine Halseya. Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo) esittää Master Chiefin vanhaa ystävää Soren-66. Shabana Azmi (Next Of Kin) on Admiral Margaret Parangosky. Bentley Kalu (Avengers: Age of Ultron) on uusi hahmo Spartan Vannak-134. Natasha Culzac (The Witcher) on niin ikään uusi hahmo Spartan Riz-028 ja Kate Kennedy (A Midsummer Night's Dream) on sitten Spartan Kai-125.
Tuottaja Gary Levina paljasti senkin, että teemojensa vuoksi sarja tulee olemaan lähellä lapsilta kiellettyä R-Rated-tasoa. Lisäksi sarja on uskollinen pelien luomalle maailmalle, ja yhteistyötä tehdään 343 Industriesin kanssa.
"We want to be able to satisfy the gamers, but this is a human portrait, so violence is going to have consequence. It will sort of belong in our PG-13 almost R universe of shows. I'm not sure what age you're talking about, but again, hopefully we'll satisfy the gamers and satisfy the Showtime drama watchers."
"Hopefully, you're going to get new information in our series, but we're not going to violate any of the things in the canon. The good news is, we've been working very closely with 343 through the entire development process. They are there both as a resource to tell us stuff we don't know, and also to make sure we're not violating anything big in the canon. So we're doing this with total confidence that the fans are going to embrace what we're doing."
Ensimmäisen kauden kuvaukset on määrä aloittaa Budapestissa myöhemmin tänä vuonna. Tulossa on 10 jaksoa, ja ensi-illan on määrä olla vuoden 2021 alussa.
