Tällä hetkellä on menossa kaksi erillistä niin sanottua elokuvauniversumia, joissa esiintyy Spider-Man. Sonylla on työn alla omat elokuvansa, joista ensimmäinen oli Venom. Lisäksi Spider-Man on toki mukana Marvelin omissa elokuvissa.
Mutta voisiko sama Spider-Man olla mukana molemmissa? Venom 2 -ohjaaja Andy Serkis on kertonut Fandomille, että Sony on rakentamassa kohtaamista Tom Hardyn Venomin ja Tom Hollandin Spider-Manin välille.
"[In] the comics, he evolved from Spider-Man but because of the Marvel-Sony thing we weren't able to that. And so the thing I think it's building towards, and will be exciting to see, is when they actually do confront each other."
