Uusi Perfect Dark julkistettiin The Game Awards -gaalassa vuonna 2020 pitkän verkkoporinajakson päätteeksi. Sen jälkeen joitakin nimekkäitä kehittäjiä on lähtenyt nostelemaan työtä tekevältä The Initiativelta.
Viime vuoden syyskuussa selvisi, että The Initiative tekee yhteistyötä uudemman polven Tomb Raidereiden tekijöiden eli Crystal Dynamicsin kanssa. Ja nyt kaikki sujuu hienosti ja mahtavasti. Hehkutusta jatkaa Crystal Dynamicsin ja Eidosin toimitusjohtaja Phil Rogers.
