The Last of Usin toista kautta verrataan sellaiseen merkkiteokseen, että oksat pois

HBO:n The Last of Us -sarjan ensimmäinen kausi keräsi kiitosta, ja toinen kausi starttaa Maxilla 13. huhtikuuta 2025. The Hollywood Reporterin haastattelussa toinen sarjan puuhamiehistä eli "showrunnereista", Craig Mazin, on rinta kaarella verrannut toista kautta Star Wars -elokuvaan Imperiumin vastaisku.

Videopelaajien näkökulmasta tärkein tieto lienee se, ettei pelin "ulkopuolelle" tulla menemään. Vaikuttaakin siltä, että ennen pitkää sarja päättyy, ellei Naughty Dog aio tehdä kolmatta The Last of Us -peliä.
