Milestone ottaa selvää pilvipelaamisen mahdollisuuksista

Milestone tunnetaan ennen kaikkea ajopeleistään, joihin kuuluu myäs kesäkuun alussa julkaistava MotoGP 19 niin PS4:llä, Xbox Onella, PC:llä ja Nintendo Switchillä.

Gamereactor pääsi haastattelemaan suunnittelija Alessandro Ciavolaa, ja puheena oli ennen kaikkea Nintendo Switchin oikeista paikoista yksinkertaistettu versio.

"You won't have all the pilots on the starting grid because it would require too much CPU from the Nintendo Switch, so a little bit less riders, but for improved gameplay and the frame-rate"

Tulossa on myös uusittu fysiikka, parannettu grafiikka, ja uudet historialliset haasteet ja kuskit. Niin ikään uratilaan on panostettu.

"completely different physics, improved graphics, and the new historical challenges and riders. Also, we have [reworked] the career with improvements on the bike, new cameras... there is a lot of stuff going on. We tried to improve as much as we could."

Switchillä ei ole verkkopeliä, mutta se on korvattu kahdeksan pelaajan paikallisella kurvailulla.

"You got the Neural AI as well. This was a big challenge for us, of course, because the team did a great job to bring such a... not resource-consuming, but such a big aspect of the game from one console to another. The only part missing is the online multiplayer and we changed it with the local multiplayer up to 8 players."

Pilvipelaamisesta, ja nimenomaan Google Stadiasta, oli siitäkin sanottavaa. Milestone aikoo seurata tilannetta, ja näkee pilvipelaamisessa suuren potentiaalin.

"We can make any announcement yet on Google Stadia. Of course we explore all the opportunities we are facing and this is a huge opportunity for us because it allows to target a much bigger audience [...] I think that, as every publisher in the world, we see it as a good opportunity, but we don't know yet which game and when we will start with because nobody knows when the service is launching in Europe."
