Xboxin konsolibisneksen suunnittelun pomo Dan Tavares on katkonut huhuilta siivet osittain. Kysymyksessä on ollut väärinymmärrys. Microsoft vaihtoi SKU-tunnukset eli yksittäisten tuotteiden tunnistuskoodit, mikä on saattanut aiheuttaa harmia verkkokaupoille. Microsoft onkin varmistanut, että Xbox One S on edelleen tuotannossa, ja että väistyvää konsolia tuetaan vielä ainakin kaksi vuotta Xbox Series X -konsolin julkaisun jälkeen.
Lisäksi Gamereactor on saanut Microsoftilta lausunnon, jonka mukaan Xbox One X ja Xbox One S All-Digital Edition -konsolien valmistus lopetetaan, mutta että Xbox One S -mallin valmistus jatkuu.
